Description

This three night retreat in the quiet winter of Lancashire, at the beginning of a new year, is an invitation to turn our attention towards the most fundamental question:

Who am I?

Inspired by the teachings of Ramana Maharshi, Atma-Vichara—or Self Inquiry—is not about arriving at an intellectual answer, but gently tracing our experience back towards the awareness in which thoughts, emotions and identities arise.

Our Retreat is also inspired by the wisdom and teachings of Ram Dass ❤️ and alongside the ancient practice of Atma-Vichara, we will draw on Internal Family Systems (IFS) as a way of meeting the different parts of ourselves that emerge in inquiry. Rather than trying to transcend, silence or overcome these parts, we will be giving fear, protection, longing, roles, legacy aspects and vulnerability space to be seen and understood.

Through guided inquiry, experiential practices, externalisation, periods of silence and shared reflection, we will explore the relationship between the changing contents of experience of form and the deeper sense of Self beneath them. The intention is not to force a particular state or conclusion, but to create the conditions for a more direct and intimate exploration of what is already here.

Importantly, our time together will also include space for integration. What might these explorations mean for the way you relate, work, make decisions, encounter difficulty and move through ordinary life? Rather than leaving insight contained within the retreat, we will explore how greater Self embodiment, compassion and inner spaciousness might continue to unfold when you return home.

We will have offerings of Conscious Connected Breathwork and massage to transcend ordinary states of being.

This Retreat is less focused on IFS in action for healing (as other Therapy Northwest Retreats are) and more on tipping points for abiding Self presence.

Price includes breakfast, lunch, dinner, with our own chef and overnight accommodation in a beautiful hall in Lancashire. The whole of the hall and its grounds will be for the private use of our group.
